5 /5 Samantha Rummel: This is a BEAUTIFUL school. My daughter and I went for a campus tour because she was looking at their Music Education program about eight years ago and it’s just a beautiful school/campus. Their music program is AMAZING and the auditoriums are GORGEOUS with great acoustics too. As a HS student if you’re interested in their program, they’ll even let you sit in on one of their rehearsals so ya get a full experience! We also went to one of their rehearsals theatre program’s play— it was Legally Blonde and we had a wonderful time! They have four or five different auditoriums for their theatre performances and it’s really nice. One thing about the town of Canyon though, is that it’s a “dry” town— and if ya wanna get a beer in one of the restaurants, ya have to have a “membership”… which typically costs a dollar or two… but that’s how a dry town is. The OTHER great thing about WTAMU is that they have what they call “The Buffalo Promise”… anyone making under $40k, you can get free tuition for an undergraduate degree. The only thing I can really complain about is, is the Financial Aid office. They were SO SLOW on processing my daughter’s paperwork that it made it impossible for her to attend… it was originally her number one university to attend, but the FA people were SO slow and had ZERO give a crap that time was running out before she’d had to have started, that she chose another university. Which ended up being a great outcome because she was able to go to London and march in their NYD parade and she also got to play Carnegie Hall in her last semester of college. And she had the most AMAZING Professors. But WTAMU is a very good university and it’s beautiful. But that FA office was useless.
