International College of Health Sciences - Boynton Beach Sandy West: Please stay away from this institution. They are the most unprofessional and horrendous education establishment I have interacted with in my 25 years working with various colleges and schools in USA. I totally agree with reviews provided by Bob and Mirell regarding the way this colleges administration handles the students, their studies, and play with students future. The have no compassion, no structure, no respect, its borderline harassments of students at the hands of the management and administration that operates this institution. I am going to share some points below:
a) This batch was asked to sit for Capstone final at the ICHS campus rather than take remotely as proctored, which was not how they had administered for all the past batches. Me and my other colleagues thought this seems like good idea, we hoped that the college administration had a plan in place if any of the students couldnt pass that those students would perhaps be asked to remediate or retake exam again so help students that are on fringe for them to be able to pass, but no, it was another game or plan by the administration to harass students by having them travel all the way with no plan in place or compassion to help students that were 1% to 10% below passing, which for a 120+ question exam would be no more than 4 - 5 questions..
On of my family friend went to local SoCal Nursing school, that school was very transparent ahead of time, if a student failed within 5 percentage points, they would have those students take 8 hour remediation sessions on the topics that they scored lowest and thereafter would give them credits to pass, for any student with more than 5 percent and under 10 percent they would offer them to take a retest within 2 weeks by paying a small test retake fee. Why not ICHS had something like this planned, why were they not transparent ahead of time with students and communicated clearly that although we are asking you to come to Florida campus for test, if you dont pass there is no retake or remediation and you will not be allowed to take Exit exam. Why students were kept in dark? I guess they are smart enough or really dont care for students time, emotions or money wastage.
b) Why is that after every semester finals they dont confirm final score right away, they always say give us couple days to finalize scores of the test and that we are checking in the backend to make sure that questions were not faulty... are the students guinea pigs for this administrations stupid games.. if they are not 100% sure themselves on their exam questions structure, content, or complexity why have the students go through a test that even thy dont have confidence in? There are obvious patterns here that either they are very incompetent. Very fishy and unprofessional, how can anyone trust them?
c) Two of my batchmates have 8 to 12 years of LVN practice experience, I was in disbelief to know that even they couldnt pass. It seems for this batch again almost half or more of the students couldnt pass. We are also consulting a local law firm in California, and they have partner law firm in Florida, we shared our experience and initial contract we signed with ICHS, upon quick review the attorney said that its obvious that ICHS is in breach of their own contract. They have advised as first step to submit complaint to Florida Commission of Independent Education as next steps and possible lawsuit thereafter.
Now ICHS will offer all failed students to enroll in next semester, waste their time and hard money again with no guidance or structure. Why not offer failed students to retake the exam, if you as institution are confident in your education that you provide why is this is not an option offered.. They will not because they just need to make their $2,500 per each student again, and this is their only agenda. They are a greedy business where I am sure everyone makes commissions on how much fees based revenue they can bring in by failing students.
Sorry for long review, but this greedy and shoddy intuition deserves it. Baptist University of Florida - Graceville Jacob Schwahn: Terrible customer service. I had to take 1 class through here in high school and ever since I have had difficulty with getting transcripts and getting information about my enrollment history. Chipola College - Marianna Jim Walker: I went from LPN to RN in their bridge nursing program a few years ago. They worked us very hard because there was so much to master in a short time but the professors knew their stuff and were scrupulously fair and positive. Atmosphere was one of much camaraderie and they did all possible to help us go out and be successful. However unless your a freshman living in sovi there are pretty much no offered benefits. The school puts more budget into incoming freshman than all the rest of your years combined. The teachers in physics and science dept. are impossibly hard. Can’t get a lot of the classes to graduate in 4 years. Most people here aren’t super friendly and it’s hard to make long term friends unless in a sorority/frat. The staff are mostly lazy and rude. Most everything that has hours opens 30mins late and closes an hour before closing time. There are so many pools and a lake but you can’t use any of these if there is any sort of inclimate weather or between 12-5pm. West lake is the best for living aka least dumb rules. Southern Technical College - Port Charlotte - Port Charlotte Kayla Powell: I was sent in to the school from a graduate that took a program here. When I arrived I was automatically treated just like family and I wasn’t even a student yet! I knew exactly what I wanted to do. Alicia helped me by taking very valuable time and asking me questions that would help me make the ultimate life changing discussion that I’ve needed. We went over a few things and she also involved my sister who tagged along with me she absolutely loved that she got to see the labs and the school. Before I knew it Alicia asked when I was wanting to get started I told her as soon as possible. She said it was perfect timing a class starts next month, before I knew it I was signing up for my very first class, filling out for my financial aid. The staff here is OUTSTANDING!!!!! They are very understanding, if you need to talk with anyone their doors always open, they listen and always have you feeling better before you leave their office! The Medical Assistant program is where it’s at! Great instructors only month long classes that I love only 4 hour days and I still have time to do things that need to get done during the day College of Central Florida, Wilton Simpson Citrus Campus - Lecanto Jocelyn manzi: If I could give less than a 1 star I would. Please please please don’t go here if you’re new to college. The advisors don’t know anything about your classes. I signed up for online classes to constantly have to go in for exams. As a mother or if you work please seek a different college. The AVAILABILITY is not there for classes. Waited 4 months to sign up for a class and another 4 months to start the class to find out I had to go in person once a week. When mentioned I can’t make the in person class I got told “other professors will work with you” now I have to wait 4 months to take the same class but different professor. I’ve been in college for 4 years and don’t even have my associates yet because this school sets people up to fail. It’s all about money to them. Check other reviews because I know I’m not the only one they have done this to. I will be messaging the board of education and bringing this to their attention. When I went in person a lot of students agreed this school is a joke. Florida International University - Miami Paul DeBoer: This is an awesome public School. The curriculum is great . The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The dorms and class rooms are nice and clean. Opportunity for improvement is improve the dorm meeting situation. Tiamiami Hall has kitchens but no cafeteria. My son is a junior transfer and was able to stay at Tiamiami hall. It is an absolutely beautiful dormatory. Unfortunately for his senior year, they have been told that they will not be able to stay at this nice dorm. They are offering dorm to new only. Its a bit disappointing.
