4 /5 Luciana: Fun fact: this used to be a hotel before the Savannah College of Art and Design purchased it to turn it into a student residence. There are many, many stories about what used to happen at the hotel, and people say the building is currently haunted. Theres a specific floor where students claim to have heard or seen creepy things during the night. Still, its a cool place to live in if you are planning on staying on campus.

5 /5 Brandon Karcher: Located in the heart of the historic downtown area, being a resident of O-House is full of perks. Everything to do is within walking distance, from the historic cobblestoned River Street, to City Market, to the Jen Library and Trustees Theater, to the plentiful restaurants and coffee shops. Connected to Oglethorpe House is JOs, a very nice dining hall, and Club SCAD, a fitness center. Oglethorpe House was recently renovated and has a brand new lobby with a beautiful ballroom and bathrooms; the new color scheme on the exterior brings new life to one of my favorite residence halls. The bus system is also very good here, O-House has its own dedicated red line, since the standard red line tends to get filled up from the Turner House stop. The main Residence Life and Housing Offices are also located at Oglethorpe House, which is great, because they are all amazing people. Rooms are large and spacious, every room has its own private bathroom.

Columbus State University - Columbus cey cey: why is social security number a requirement? at intake I had to provide the number and I did so begrudgingly as i was given no option and assured security controls were in place. Months later, a year or so now, my portal is prompting me to upload copies of my SS card. Why? No details except that it’s an admission checklist item. I’ve been admitted for some time. I don’t know if it’s due to the site and email changes but I’ve been experiencing quite a few issues. Also, I would appreciate if the big curb in the biggest parking garage could made better. I’ve lost a rim to it and during new semesters, car debris can be spotted near it and near exit/entrance. As I type this I’m watching a car go the opposite direction in the traffic circle near the dorms. This happens all the time with little consequences. Weather alerts and trespasser alerts are sent to students and faculty but business operations still go on as normal. Basically, use your own discretion. I do not feel student and faculty safety is a priority .

Strayer University - Columbus

Columbus State University - Columbus Noel: Worst school in the state, save your money and go to a community college. I guarantee they offer a more well rounded education without having their hands elbow deep in your pockets. This school only cares about money, hence half of their administrators and the Dean leaving as the school steadily runs out of money. Here’s a brief rundown of what they’ll try to shake out of you, a MANDATORY $4,000 meal plan for a cafe that serves flavorless slop and is rarely open, nearly $7,000 if you are dorming on campus (this is also MANDATORY if you are a freshman), $2,500 for in state tuition (in state!!). This is of course not counting the random fees they will charge you at every opportunity. And don’t forget, if you take longer than a month to send money they suddenly say you owe, you will receive a barrage of letters threatening to send you to a collection agency. Don’t even try to fight them with any fees, they will fein incompetence and send you back and forth from the bursars office (one of their fellow misers) and the financial aid office all day until they both close. PLEASE listen to my warning, I was too stupid to listen to all the people telling me what a piece of complete garbage this school is.

Columbus Technical College - Columbus Svdn3v S: Since nobody’s saying it, that white lady is racist. I believe she’s ahead of most of the other staff, if not all of them. She kicked me out over something I did not do. Me and my ex boyfriend had an altercation because I got tired of all of the emotional abuse, and somehow she’d seen me “strangle him” or “choke him.” during the argument outside. Yes, I could’ve had better self control over raising my voice outside, but seriously? She made slick shots toward my cornrows in the bathroom as well. Also, the teacher with no hair said something very inappropriate in front of the whole class to my ex. Something along the lines of “You can do better in a different relationship, how about her?” and proceeded to point to another female in the class as a “joke.” Which wasn’t so funny to me.

Georgia Military College - Columbus Campus - Columbus Caleb Bartlett: Great experience- the most simple, painless process Ive experienced of getting admitted and starting classes. Admissions is so personable. Professors for sciences when I went were excellent and caring. I enjoyed the small class sizes In A&P and microbiology. The small campus makes life simple.
