Cognitive Science Department - TroyLogan Garber: If you havent taken a class with bram, you should. He is the greatest teacher at RPI and makes the cognitive science department that much better.
Bryant & Stratton College - Albany, NY Campus - AlbanyKrystal King: My time at BSC were some of the best years of my life. I made a ton of great lifelong friends and connections with amazing teachers, classmates, and other staff. Loved it so much Ive gone back for two more degrees. Everyone here is so open, friendly, and supportive. Teachers get to know you personally and are always ready to help you out.
Mildred Elley - Albany, NY Campus - AlbanyLinda Secrum: Complete Chaos there. Administration quits about every 2 to 3 weeks so new people have to come in. They dont inform the students of contact changes, like who our new Dean or advisors are. If you email them, chances are you wont get a reply. while doing the labs, the instructors had no clue what we are doing, the agenda for that day is. When they do notify us of changes, the notifications are to late. example, telling students while they are at work, that today is the last day you can get the newly required covid test for clinicals and wont respond to questions asked by the student.
Low Center for Industrial Innovation - TroyJoe Blow: I got to the bottom of it all. The lowest of the Low. In the end its only sadness, booze and the cold that will drive you back home. They say that the lonely never go hungry, but god i know thats not true. Live now, speak gloriously, and dont forget to leave a light on. Survive!
Maria College - AlbanyProsperous Ventures: Rating: ☆☆☆☆☆ (0 star out of 5)
As a former student at this nursing school, I can confidently say that it was an absolute nightmare from start to finish. The administrative staff, the dean of students, and the teaching staff all seemed completely disinterested in the well-being and success of their students. Heres why this nursing school is the worst:
Unresponsive Advisors: One of the most frustrating aspects of attending this school was the complete lack of support from the so-called "advisers." Whenever I reached out for guidance or assistance, I was met with silence and indifference. It was as if they simply did not care about their students concerns or academic progress.
Misuse of Student Funds: To add insult to injury, the school appeared to have no problem taking hefty sums of money from students for tuition and fees. However, when it came to providing essential resources or services, they were nowhere to be found. It felt like a complete rip-off, and I couldnt believe how they justified their egregious misuse of student funds.
Unprofessional Teaching Staff: The teaching staff lacked competence and professionalism. The lectures were often disorganized and delivered without any passion or enthusiasm. It seemed like they were just going through the motions, not caring if students were grasping the material or not.
Lack of Support: When students faced challenges, either academically or personally, there was no support system in place. The dean of students showed no empathy or understanding towards students individual circumstances. Instead, they appeared more interested in brushing off any issues rather than addressing them constructively.
Left to Fend for Ourselves: As students, we were left to fend for ourselves throughout the entire educational journey. There was no sense of community or camaraderie among students because the school failed to foster a positive learning environment.
In conclusion, I strongly advise anyone considering this nursing school to think twice and explore other options. The lack of professionalism, unresponsive staff, and neglectful attitude towards students needs make this institution an absolute disaster. Save yourself the time, money, and frustration and seek a better nursing school that actually cares about its students success and well-being.
