University of North Texas - Denton Abnry Acehilm: The only thing I got out of UNT was a bunch of student debt and a piece of paper. Politics were taught far more in classes than anything useful for my major or the general working environment. Terrible school, terrible city, and an overall negative experience. West Texas A&M University - Canyon Jennifer Quintana: The volunteers who helped us unload and move our son into Stafford Hall today were awesome! They were fast, efficient, and were patient with all our questions. West Texas A&M University - Canyon Jennifer Quintana: The volunteers who helped us unload and move our son into Stafford Hall today were awesome! The Cosmo instructor was great and I am excited to begin her course. The University of Texas at Dallas - Richardson Hugo Acevedo: As a 27-year-old graduate of the University of Texas at Dallas, I can confidently say that my time there was both enriching and enjoyable. The curriculum is well-structured and offers a calm learning environment, making it easy to stay focused and engaged with the material. I appreciated the variety of courses available, allowing students to tailor their education to their interests and career goals.
The campus has a fantastic array of organizations and extracurricular activities. Whether you’re interested in academic clubs, cultural groups, or professional development, there’s something for everyone. This fostered a sense of community and connectedness among students that I truly valued.
One major plus was the flexible class schedule. This allowed me to balance my studies with work and personal commitments, which is essential for non-traditional students like myself.
However, the parking situation on campus is quite challenging. Finding a parking spot can often be a frustrating experience, especially during peak hours. I hope the university addresses this issue in the future, as it detracts from an otherwise great experience. Charging fees on closer parking spaces was also something I personally dont agree with, given the limited spaces to begin with.
Overall, I highly recommend UT Dallas for anyone looking for a balanced and supportive academic environment! Southwest University - El Paso Jasso Jorge: Ms. Breeden is one of the best teachers I’ve ever had. I had her as a teacher for two challenging classes; she made them manageable and enjoyable. She is very knowledgeable and professional. Because of her, I have learned a lot during my first six weeks here at Southwest University. She explains things clearly and connects the lessons to real-life examples, which significantly helps. Her passion for teaching shows daily and truly inspires me. She is supportive and always ready to help if something is hard to understand. Thanks to Ms. Breeden, I feel much more confident about Anatomy, Physiology, and Medical Terminology. I am grateful to have had her as my teacher! Schreiner University - Kerrville Barnes Jacob “Kealohi Okalani”: Schreiner University is a great college for students who want a more calming and less overwhelming atmosphere. Given the fact its a smaller campus, its easier to make friends and create connections. The Hill Country is also home to a wonderful scenery. Makes you feel right at home. Northeast Lakeview College - Live Oak K I: Honestly Ive had a pretty good experience here overall, but the advising this last semester left me high and dry when the semester started.
The advisor recommended all my classes for me, they picked ludicrously without any investigation or effort if those courses would work for my education plan. The VA and FAFSA kicked my schedule and payments back because the courses didnt align with my designated program. This absolutely screwed me over, making an unnecessary sheit show and ruining my VA stipend.
100% so glad I am transferring out after this. St. Philips College - San Antonio Jay Bee: Wow, at first glance you wouldnt think this campus is as large as it is. I noticed several learning centers, a huge Student Center, at least 7 modern buildings blended in with what appeared to be some historic buildings, and at least one gym. I suspect there is another but never found it. The campus extends, vertically, at least 3 blocks. There is a huge lawn right in the center for students. Very impressive small college. San Antonio College - San Antonio Sunshine CrystalKitties: Cool place, lots of services to aid such as the advocacy center, mental health resources, advisors, cafeterias, school store, clubs, a small gym, and so much more. Ive got a few semesters still, but I really like the memories I make with my friends here. Walking around and seeing the nature and squirrels is calming. I have a fear of squirrels but they havent harmed me yet lol. Theyre cute. Only downsides are the aces website sometimes doesnt work, it also no longer lets me schedule appointments with my advisor on the AlamoNavigate, saying theres no available appointments any time for even months later. So talking with my advisor can be a little tricky. As well as the prices can be expensive in the store.. but other than that, I recommend coming here. Real great place to go to school at with friends and even make friends. Below are some attached photos of some art pieces in the art building and nature pictures from campus. Shout out to the volunteers from eco centro, helping plant stuff and help the place look beautiful! As well as those who help the cats on campus. I love occasionally finding a cat by the advocacy and petting them. Fun, cool, helpful place!
