Central Texas College - KilleenJUSTIN: STAY AWAY, the only thing they are good at is collecting your money. The instructors DO NOT TEACH ANYTHING. The CATE center is the obsolute worst place you ever want to go. You can learn more watching youtube then attending this place. The instructors literally tell you on day one that they dont care, and could care even less if they have a job or not. That was my sons very first day in any college class. His name is Mr. Rodriguez, he can be found sleeping most days in the middle of the construction trades shop. I brought this up to the department head, and of course my son has been a target since then, to the point that I have asked him to drop the courses at the CATE center and we will look into other schools.
Central Texas College - Marble Falls / Fredericksburg - Marble FallsBenjamin Dunbar: At the time of this review, I think CTC is an excellent springboard to go from 2-year degree plans to 4-year degree plans. At the satellite campus, I would like to make the following recommendations: institute a miniature "bookstore" (cannibalize a storage room or something) at the satellite campus that sells copies of the textbooks for classes that exist there each semester, thereby eliminating the need to drive to Killeen for books; integrate classroom classes with the Blackboard website (I have heard that Blackboard is not available for CTCs classroom classes); improve the availability of instructors to prevent cancellation of classes. This review will be updated as I spend more time at this satellite campus.
Huston-Tillotson University - AustinEricka Williams: I enjoyed the campus. I feel well informed and that majority of the staff were happy to assist me. I think the campus could use a couple of marketers to help promote how great the school is to more students. Campus feels cozy inside the Austin city skyline. Looks like more improvements to class rooms are on the way. Adult Degree Program is informative and flexible, with a few bumps.
Austin Community College: Hays Campus - KyleCandee Edwards: As someone who is attended public university, private university, a community college in another city and this community college, ACC is an amazing school. If you are lucky enough to be in district you can get very affordable college education in a variety of amazing topics and subjects. I have found myself in art school there in my 40s and its just been great.
Austin Community College: Highland Campus - AustinG: This is a two for one review: ACC Highland Campus and Austin PBSs new studio/offices.
Its a WOW! I was able to get a first look into the new Austin PBS studio days before its grand opening to the public. It may be empty now, with a few last minute furnishings and paint etc., but what a fantastic space it is and will be for Austin. The ACC campus is shared with Austin PBS grounds which are absolutely gorgeous. Beautifully set in the middle of a grove of old established oak trees youll find coffee and bakery shops, fooderies, and a nail salon that surround the campus.
Students who want to live close to the ACC campus will have various new apartment housing to choose from. Some residencies are so close to the ACC doors, students could roll out of bed and walk right across the street and be inside. Parking is generously available too, with several parking garages within walking distance from both Austin PBS and ACC. Bottom line... The new Austin PBS and ACC campus is a grand new indoor/outdoor space in Austin!
St. Edwards University - AustinD Ward: Fantastic theatre program! And their events coordinators are always very good at their job. Ive attended plays, set up events, and met plenty of graduates from St Eds and I can tell its a great school. (From a Longhorn
The University of Austin - AustinJoel: Best of this kind of university that Ive been to. The service is quick, the staff is amazing, their offerings are always on point, and the specials are definitely something you need to try out. But more than that, the whole atmosphere is truly wonderful to experience, they have a very cozy, very friendly environment and even the customers are kind, and love to smile. Its also not too expensive, I often take my whole family. Very affordable.
NCTC Gainesville Campus | North Central Texas College - GainesvilleFahryn Marrs: Not sure who I talked to. I asked for my PREVIOUS years billing from NCTC to be sent to me because apparently they can only be mailed. I finally get it and it’s the WRONG thing. I was rushed off the phone and she didn’t seem to care or know much about what I was speaking of. Kinda off putting
